	<abstract>The aim of this research is to study and analyze the dynamics of freight wagons and the safety of the bogie, when passing through railroad turnouts with different rail profiles and radius of curvature. Many type of turnouts are used in Iranian railway and they affect the dynamic performance of bogies. Dynamic simulations by using MBS engineering software UM is used. As the results prove, the geometric features of the turnout, such as its radius and rail profile, have great influences on the dynamic behavior of the rail vehicles.</abstract>
